Computer
Lab Day (Wednesday, July 15th, 2009) Instructions:
1.
Work on any aspect of your Personal Finance Project today, particularly the Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet that categorizes all
your expenses. The expense/income log is a chronological log of how you spent and received money.
2. Download the Microsoft Excel Template that I have provided
with the link below. You may choose to use your own spreadsheet, but the template I have provided for you already sums
up all the expenses per category. All you have to do is be careful to replace the template with your numbers.
If you are Microsoft Excel-impaired, please ask Ms. Kim or a fellow student for help. I have also provided some example
projects, so that you can see how past students have completed the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet.
3. Feel free to use the lab time to work on other aspects
of the budget project. Read the handout I passed out at the beginning of the course to see what I require for the project.
I have included a link to the file at the top of the page for your reference as well.
4. There will not be enough computers for every individual,
but each student is entitled to at least one hour on the computer. When you are not on your computer, you can be working
on Ch. 13 and 14 Assessment, 1-15 all which is due at the end of the period.
5. Do NOT turn your budget project in a 3-ring binder.
Either staple it together of put it in a spiral-bound folder for a 5% extra credit
boost to your grade on this project.
