I LOVE ECON!!!!
Today - finished a 5 page paper on the difficulties associated with family budgeting
Monday - Take a mathematical economics final... the goal being to get a C on the midterm at worst for a C in the class and
at best get an A in order to get a B in the class.... that would be nice
Tuesday - Take Beverli, Calvin and Christie to USC for presentation... hopefully Beverli will win $1000... haha and I would
win $250 if she wins, so it's a win-win scenario.... come back and then take my Econ 590 final (Industrial Economics)... at
worst, get a B in the class and at best, an A... probably a 70% chance for a B, and a 30% chance for a B
Wednesday (early morning) - work on an economics lesson (oligopoly) to submit... this is the opportunity cost for going to
Russia... time required (4-6 hours)
Thursday - Econ 440 Econometrics Final at worst, a B, at best an A
Saturday - Fin 310 Final - an easy A
So what am I going to do over winter break??? Study for my Series 6 and 63, so that I can actually help people budget AND
also sign them up for mutual funds and the like.... after winter break, I will have all your budget projects graded and then
we will study the wonderful world of mutual funds, stocks, CDs, bonds and things of that nature

Elusive character elected to Orange Unified
http://www.latimes.com/news/education/la-me-rocco4dec04,1,1318882.story?coll=la-news-learning
Interesting article on how someone who didn't campaign, didn't give one speech or hand out one flier became elected to the
Orange Unified School District as a Board Member that handles a budget of $230 million. Very much like the movie, "The
Distinguished Gentleman." Apparently, 54% of the voters voted for Rocco, the educator/writer, over Martinez, the park
ranger.... heck, given that information, even I would have voted for Rocco.

Two weeks before winter break...
My teaching experience has been unique, so I can only make generalizations based upon my own unique experience, but I suppose
that's true with everyone. One thing I remember that my master teacher told me during my student teaching is that if you
can make it past the first two years, you're set. Now that I'm in my 3rd year of teaching, I see the truth of what he was
saying. Don't have to worry about the content matter all too much now, just have to figure out a way for students to get the
content... i've still got things to improve on teaching-wise, but i'm a far better teacher now than I was two years ago and
I had no clue what I was doing.... lots to look forward to teaching-wise in the years to come at Los Altos
