The New Look Dodgers and Why it's Economically Inefficient
1B - Nomar Garciaparra
2B - Jeff Kent
3B - Bill Mueller
SS - Rafael Furcal
C - Dioner Navarro
RF - JD Drew?
CF - Kenny Lofton?
LF - Reggie Sanders? Jose Cruz?
Well, looks like Hee Seop Choi and Jason Phillips will be non-tendered. Call me biased, but I just don't like the
Nomar signing the way it's looking right now. If they were to sign him to play left field, then that would certainly
be an improvement on the roster, but Nomar is not much of an upgrade from a Saenz/Choi platoon. Coletti has been busy
making a bunch of moves that are short-term and has done nothing to sacrifice the farm system, but he's ushering in this "old-school"
mentality to the Dodgers and with Choi's imminent departure from the team, the Dodgers no longer have any more elements of
a DePodesta "Moneyball" team....
Choi for around $1 million vs. Garciaparra at $6 million??? And this basically negates a lot of spot start value that Saenz
has as a righty platoon partner.
Well, lot of activity going on, but my prediction is that Choi will end up with the Yankees.... if Choi ends up a SF Giant,
perhaps I might end up signing a 1 year deal myself with the Giants as a fan...

Thank you for your comments in my guestbook. I appreciate that you take the time out of your busy schedule to constantly
monitor my website. The opportunity cost of your posting on my website is apparently pretty low, but since you have so little
regard for my class you probably have no idea what I'm talking about. Have a nice day.
