End of the schoolyear - Class of 2006
It's the end of the school year, and for some reason, I act the part of a senior by procrastinating and not studying as I
should. I've taken 4 days off to take my economics exit exams yet I have found it incredibly difficult to concentrate
on macro- and micro-economics, not to mention econometrics. I took the macro on Friday and knew how to do half of the test.
More than likely, I will get back an unfavorable result unless Mr. Naish is feeling quite generous. I have Brajer's comp
in about 7 hours or so. I just about have a pHD in Brajer, but I'd be lucky to manage a 70 on this exam. And econometrics?
I'll just have to remember homoscedasticity and non-stochastic terminology from last year. Great!
The end result? I must now choose whether or not the marginal opportunity cost of continuing the econ program with a thesis
is greater or less than not continuing. I'm maxed out on the HLPUSD payscale, but getting that master's in econ would give
me personal pride and the ability to teach at the junior college level.
What should I do? Any thoughts from the Class of 2006?
